Job Objective:
To lead and manage the Product Development department, ensuring the successful conception, development, and delivery of innovative and market-leading products. This role encompasses strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive product excellence, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Identify make model and type of vehicles plying global roads - research upcoming vehicle build types - identity components for development for such upcoming platforms / models / makes
- Source OEM / aftermarket samples of identified product for immediate development - develop relations with dealers / garages / mechanics to gain knowledge and intel
- Develop and manage a complex Multi component Multi commodity development program that must be driven through our INFOR ERP
- Ensure project controls for all developments - engage weekly monthly quarterly periodic reviews with all stakeholders’ to ensure timely development of components
- Engage with global product management offices to stay abreast of changing vehicle designs - customer requirements - trends and ensure that our development program is ahead of the curve to ensure the company’s future sales
- Travel to trade fairs, events, road shows, tent campaigns to keep abreast of industry trends
- Manage and host new product launch meetings (physical and virtual)
- Ensure excellent and advanced sample Management at development premises
- Manage a multifaceted team of engineers to ensure full ERP visibility and project management excellence.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for diversity.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product initiatives, such as user engagement, revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and optimize product performance.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept to launch. Coordinate with engineering and other cross functional teams to ensure timely development and testing of features.
- Develop Product Strategies that align with the goals of the organization and Customer expectations
- Collaborate with Engineering on Concept Development and Prototyping
- Oversee Product Validation and Testing against performance targets
- Monitor APQP gate reviews against development milestones with cross functional team
- Identify Statutory and Regularity compliance requirements applicable to the country of application
- Lead Product Launch in strategic markets and collect customer feedback
- Document Product Development Procedures and ensure compliance
